North Sea House

North Sea House, Whitby. Rear Elevation

The practice was recently asked to develop thoughts and ideas for a new build dwelling to be located on the North Yorkshire coast, looking directly out to the North Sea.

The initial abstract design response was concerned with how a new dwelling on the site would provide spaces of privacy and intimacy in a very public location, and also how the building would provide both exposure to, and enclosure from, the beautiful and raw North Sea coastline.
